AP government increases vehicle fines

AMRAVATI:
The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a crucial decision by drastically
increasing fines for vehicle violation. The government on Wednesday issued
orders amending similar fines for bikes to 7-seater cars. The government has
decided to impose a fine of “Rs 10,000 for cell phone driving ” and dangerous driving, Rs 5,000 for first-time racing, Rs 10,000 for
second-time driving and Rs 10,000 for driving without a permit. A fine of
Rs 40,000 will be levied if the vehicles are not stopped for weight
checking
and Rs 20,000 for overloading. The orders stated that the driving license
would be revoked if the rules were repeatedly violated.

Inflated fines

❒ In case of obstruction of vehicle checking duties – Rs. 750

❒ Refusal to provide information – Rs. 750

❒ If the vehicle is given to an unauthorized person – Rs. 5000

❒ If the vehicle is given to a person below the age of eligibility – Rs.
5000

❒ If the vehicle is given to a person who is not eligible for a driving
license – Rs. 10000

❒ If changes are made in vehicles against the Rules – Rs. 5000

❒ If the cart is driven fast – Rs. 1000

❒ Cell Phone Driving, Dangerous Driving – Rs. 10000

❒ Racing first time Rs. 5000, for the second time Rs. 10000

❒ Without registration, without fitness certificate – for the first time Rs.
2000, for the second time Rs. 5000

❒ If unlicensed vehicles are used – Rs. 10000

❒ Overload – Rs. 20,000 and then Rs. 2000 additional weight

❒ Even if the vehicle is not stopped for weight checking – Rs. 40000

❒ If emergency vehicles are not allowed – Rs. 10000

❒ Unnecessarily the horn rang – for the first time Rs. 1000, for the second
time Rs. 2000 fine

❒ Making changes against the Rules will result in a fine of Rs.
