Inter to degree new approach from this year
Amravati: The state government has taken steps to allot seats to poor
students as per reservations in private colleges offering inter and degree
courses. The magic of private educational institutions offering admissions
arbitrarily will not be thwarted by online admissions. From the academic
year 2020-21, with the introduction of online admissions in Inter and Degree
Colleges, the Rule of Reservation will be strictly enforced in private
educational institutions as well. It is learned that Special General
Secretary for Higher Education Satish Chandra has already issued GO 34 on
admissions in degree colleges. Seats will be filled on merit basis following
reservations.
Details of Admissions on Board Website ..
The board has completed preparations to conduct admissions online,
including admissions to inter colleges. The duty procedures for online
admissions were embedded in the website on Monday night. Inter-Board
Secretary V Ramakrishna said online admissions would be made to all junior
colleges in the state. It was clarified that seats will be allotted on
reservation basis. Fill in the details through the student login and select
five colleges in order of preference. The allotment letter will appear on
the website indicating the college details for which the seat has been
secured. You can join the college by paying the prescribed fee.
Only 40 people per section.
All the while private colleges are admitting students at will, ignoring the
inter-board schedule. According to the CBSE regulations, only 40 people have
to be added to the section.
Compulsory reservations ..
According to the latest rules, 15 per cent of the total seats in the
respective colleges should be allotted to SC students and 6 per cent to STs.
Backward classes will be allotted 29 per cent seats, of which BC ‘A’ will be
7 per cent, BC ‘B’ 10 per cent, BC ‘C’ 1 per cent, BC ‘D’, 7 per
cent and BC ‘E’ students 4 per cent. 3 per cent seats should be allotted to
the disabled, 5 per cent under the NCC and sports quota and 3 per cent to
the children of ex-servicemen. In addition, 33.33 per cent of the seats in
the respective categories should be reserved for girls. As the Inter Board
conducts admissions online, seats will be available for students of the
respective categories as per the rules.
