Single session schools from April 1st 2021

 Sub:SE – Covid 19 Pandemic – Declaring single session schools from 1st April
2021 to 31st May 2021 in case of classes I to IX and till 15.06.2021 in case of Class X (including exams) – Permission – Accorded – Regarding.

 The attention of the Director of School Education, AP, is invited to the reference 1st cited, wherein Government have issued Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) for Health and Safety Protocols to be followed in all schools functioning under all managements for reopening of schools in the State after COVID-19 lock down for the academic year 2020-21. 
 2. In the reference 2nd cited, the Director of School Education, has informed that since COVID is again spreading it may be worth considering declaring single session schools from 1st April so that the spread of COVID can be arrested as well as the traditional practice of single session schools can be continued. However, the loss of working hours may be compensated by extending the working days from 15-05-2021 to 31-05-2021. He has therefore, requested to permit him to declare single session schools for all classes from I to X from 01-
04-2021.
 
 3. In the circumstances reported by the Director of School Education, in the reference cited, Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby permit him to declare single session schools for all classes from I to X from 01-
04-2021 with daily timings from 7.45 AM to 12.30 PM followed by midday meal
. The last working day shall be till 31-05-2021 in case of all classes except X Class and 15-06-2021 in case of X class (including exams). 
 4. The Director of School Education, is further directed to issue instructions to all the Headmasters (i) to ensure that all children leave for their homes immediately after the closure of the schools and if children from distant places would like stay back till their transportation is available, necessary arrangements such as providing shelter, drinking water be made available and (ii) to reiterate the instructions on SOP for COVID 19 issued by Government in the reference 1st cited and also from time to time. Everyday, report on medical tests being conducted and the incidence of COVID positive cases shall be reported to Government regularly. 
 5. The Director of School Education, A.P, is therefore, requested to take further necessary action accordingly, in the matter.
