Sub: School Education – COVID 19 Pandemic – Academic Year 2021-22 – Reopening of schools under all managements – Spread of COVID-19 new variant Omicron- Certain instructions – Issued – Regarding.

The attention of all Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are invited to the reference cited and informed that, the School were reopened w.e.f 16.08.2021 for the Academic Year 2021-22 and running duly following the COVID protocol and the Standard Operating Procedures issued by the Health, Medical and Family Welfare Dept., from time to time.
Further, the SCERT, A.P has issued the detailed academic calendar for the year 2021-22 and the same was communicated to all field level functionaries.
Keeping in view of the spread Covid-19 Pandemic new variant “Omicron” and considering the child safety as the highest priority, all RJDSEs and DEOs are requested to issue directions to field officers / Headmasters of all managements schools to strictly follow the instructions as issued vide Ref above. Further the following instructions shall also be implemented in their respective schools.
a. Discontinue Prayer in all Schools with immediate effect
b. Do not conduct Sports and Games activities in the Schools
c. To avoid mass gatherings of the students in the Schools
d. Sanitize school premises and all class-rooms from time to time.
DEOs should contact the concerned DMHO and take appropriate action from time to time for containment of the spread of Covid-19. In the event of any incidence of Covid out break among teachers or students, all necessary steps shall be taken to provide proper medical care to them.
Further, all Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers and other field officers in the State shall ensure strict enforcement of the guidelines / SoPs for all activities in the schools issued by the Union / State Government from time to time for strict compliance on Covid- Appropriate behaviour such as wearing Mask, Maintenance of social distancing and frequent hand washing in the schools without fail.
