As you are aware, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has launched Vidyanjali 2.0, a school volunteer programme, on 7 September. 2021, during the Inaugural Conclave of Shikshak Parv 2021. The Vidyanjali 2.0 programme, designed in line with the National Education Policy 2020, aims to enhance the quality of school education through community and volunteers participation by allowing them to connect directly with Government and Government-aided schools and share their knowledge and skills as well as contribute in the form of assets/material/equipment. SEP 2021 The broad categories of contribution by a volunteer include inter-alia, services such as subject assistance, teaching yoga, art & craft, vocational skills, assistance for Divyang students, adult education etc. and assets & materials such as basic civil infrastructure, electrical infrastructure, digital infrastructure, equipment for extra-curricular activities & sports, yoga, health and safety aids, teaching learning materials, maintenance& repairs, office stationery/furniture etc. Contribution of assets/material/equipment cannot be in the form of any monetary support.
3. Schools having UDISE+ code shall register on Vidyanjali 2.0 portal and post the required service/activity or assets/material/equipment on the web portal. Depending on the request raised by the school. a Volunteer based on his/her area of expertise interest or assets/materials can express his/her interest to partially/ fully contribute to the schools who have requested for assistance. The Vidyanjali 2.0 portal may be accessed at https://vidyanjali.education.gov.in, a mobile app for the same will also be launched shortly. A copy of the detailed guidelines for promoting community and voluntary participation for enhancing quality of school education is enclosed herewith.
4. To take forward the spirit of volunteerism in schools, States/UTs are requested to undertake the following actions:
a. Nominate a nodal officer at State level for the program and send the details of the nodal officer to this Department at eabureau2021@gmail.com.
b. The State/UT nodal officers may in turn nominate district nodal officers who will activate/authorise the schools for on boarding:
c. On-board all government and government aided schools on the portal:
d. Encourage schools to post request post request for contribution and invite the individuals/organizations for the contribution in line with the guidelines of the program;
e. Issue additional circulars, if necessary, to cover, inter-alia, safety guidelines; standards specifications for contribution in assets/material/equipment, recognition individuals/organisations/NGOs contributing in kind above a specified financial limit etc.
5. I shall be grateful if States/UTs take forward the programme and ensure its outreach through wide publicity, enabling the community and volunteers to contribute in the development of schools’ infrastructure and the enhancement of quality of school education. The Department will also be organizing a training session on the use of the portal for the State/UT Nodal Officers shortly, after receiving their nomination for the programme
