Internet Connection to Schools having Computer

Sub: SE Agreement with BSNL to provide FTTH (Fiber To The Home) connections to all the Govt. Schools which are having computing devices-Reg.

A copy of the reference cited together with its enclosures is sent herewith to the Commissioner of School Education, wherein the Addl. Secretary, DSE&L, MOE, Gol, while enclosing a copy of Draft Agreement for FTTH connections at Gram Panchayat Level under Bharat Net, has Informed that, the internet charges for the schools can be met from the following and also requested to enter into an MoU/ Agreement with BSNL on mutually agreed terms and conditions and provide FTTH connections to all the Govt. Schools which are having computing devices to leverage all the Digital Initiatives of Govt. of India and State / UTS Govt., by following all the Govt. norms and procedure:

a. For ICT labs, recurring Charges are being released under Samagra Shiksha for (e-Content, Digital Resources and Internet @ Rs.48,000/-) and the Internet Charges can be met from this amount.

b. For Smart Class room, Rs.38,000/- are being released as Recurring Charges under Samagra Shiksha and Internet Charges can be met from this amount.

c. For Schools in which ICT / Smart Class room is not sanctioned but which have one or two computers, Internet Charges can be met from the Management Monitoring Evaluation and Research (MMER) funds being released under Samagra Shiksha or can be met from any other State Govt. funds 

2. He is therefore, requested to examine and take necessary action in the matter, as per rules in force.
