Referring to the declaration of biennial elections to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council from 3 graduates (Srikakulam-Vijayanagaram-Visakhapatnam graduates; Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor graduates, Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool graduates) constituencies and 2 teachers- Nellore-Chittoor teachers and Kadapa-Anantapur-Kurnool teachers) constituencies and 8 Local Authority Constituencies (Anathapur, Kadapa, Nellore, West Godavari, East Godavari, Srikakulam, Chittor & Kurnool) by ECI, 3rd & references. Copies of the first and second cited instructions wherein orders for grant of special are issued; Casual leave on polling day to Central and State Government employees who are bona fide voters in the State Legislative Council elections to exercise their right to vote has been sent to the Collectors & District Election Officers of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram here. , Visakhapatnam, Parvathipuram Manyam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitaramaraju, Eluru, East Godavari, Kakinada, Dr. B.R. Ambetkar Konaseema, West Godavari, Prakasam, Bapatla, SPS Nellore, Annamayya, Chittoor, Tirupati Anantapur, Sri Sathyasai, Kaddadi, Kurnool, districts of Andhra Pradesh state. By requesting them to communicate the same to all the offices (Central and State Governments) in their district so that they can grant special casual leave to their employees on polling day (i.e. 13.3.2023). 2.In respect of the employees of private companies, the District Election Officers have been informed that there is no provision for declaring a general holiday under the Negotiable Instrument Act for elections to the State Legislative Council under the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Therefore, a ‘Press Release’ (copy enclosed) has been issued by the Chief Electoral Officer requesting all private managements/authorities of business, commerce, industrial establishments or other establishments in the State to provide necessary facilities to their employees who are registered as voters. In any graduate constituencies, such as permission to attend office/duty late; adjustments of shifts; Shorter hours of duty or otherwise, to enable them to exercise their franchise right to vote on polling day (ie. 13.03.2023).
3. A copy of the press release issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, AP in this regard is hereby intimated for reference. All District Election Officers are requested to issue similar press release in their district.
