Revised Guidelines for State Teacher Awards 2023

All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are hereby informed that, on 5th September, 2023 the Government proposed to celebrate Teacher’s day in the Andhra Pradesh State Headquarters.

Further, the Regional Joint Directors and District Educational Officers are informed to select the teachers from Primary Schools, Upper Primary Schools at Mandal level and High Schools at Divisional level and furnish the list of selected teachers to the District duly following the guidelines, Timelines and Selection Committees. The selected teachers are to be scrutinized with all the needed documents by the District selection committee and submit the final list of teachers from all managements to the State for final selection at the State level by the State selection committee.

Further, the District selection committee shall recommend not more than one for each of the following categories in all managements for State Best Teacher Award:

1. The Headmaster of High Schools working in State Government, Zilla Parishad, Municipal, Aided, I.T.D.A, A.P.R.E.I.S, A.P.S.W.R.E.I.S, A.P.T.W.R.E.I.S, AP Model School, KGBV and other managements having equivalent cadres working under Government sector.

2. School Assistants : School Assistants all subjects / PD / Grade I Pandits (all subjects) working in State Government, Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Municipal, Aided, I.T.D.A. AP Model School, (P.G.T ), A.P.R.E.I.S, (P.G.Ts.), A.P.S.W.R.E.I.S. (P.G.Ts.), A.P.T.W.R.E.I.S. (P.G.Ts.), KGBV and other managements having equivalent cadres working under Government sector.

3. Secondary Grade Teachers: SGT, PET, Grade II Pandits (all subjects ), Craft / Music Teachers, Drawing Teachers working in State Government, Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Municipal, Aided, AP Model School (T.G.T), I.T.D.A, A.P.R.E.I.S, (T.G.T), A.P.S.W.R.E.I.S. (T.G.T), A.P.T.W.R.E.I.S. (T.G.T.), KGBV and other managements having equivalent cadres working under Government sector.

Further, for the District Level Best Teacher Awards, the selection committee shall recommend not more than 30 teachers in the category of SGT, 20 teachers in the category of SA and 10 teachers in the category of Headmaster for each district as per the following categories in all managements:

1. The Headmaster of High Schools working in State Government, Zilla Parishad, Municipal, Aided, I.T.D.A, A.P.R.E.I.S, A.P.S.W.R.E.I.S, A.P.T.W.R.E.I.S, AP Model School, KGBV and other managements having equivalent cadres working under Government sector.

2. School Assistants : School Assistants all subjects / PD / Grade I Pandits (all subjects) working in State Government, Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Municipal, Aided, I.T.D.A. AP Model School, (P.G.T ), A.P.R.E.I.S, (P.G.Ts.), A.P.S.W.R.E.I.S. (P.G.Ts.), A.P.T.W.R.E.I.S. (P.G.Ts.), KGBV and other managements having equivalent cadres working under Government sector.

3. Secondary Grade Teachers: SGT, PET, Grade II Pandits (all subjects ), Craft / Music Teachers, Drawing Teachers working in State Government, Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Municipal, Aided, AP Model School (T.G.T), I.T.D.A, A.P.R.E.I.S, (T.G.T), A.P.S.W.R.E.I.S. (T.G.T), A.P.T.W.R.E.I.S. (T.G.T.), KGBV and other managements having equivalent cadres working under Government sector.

Further, for the Mandal level schools (Rural) and Municipal schools (Urban) Best Teacher Award, the selection committee shall recommend not more than 10 teachers in the category of SGT and 5 teachers in the category of SA. Teachers from all management schools within the mandal/ municipal jurisdiction shall be eligible for the awards at Mandal/ Municipal levels respectively.

The incomplete and defective proposals such as leaving the columns of proforma, proposals which are not signed by the District Selection Committee, and the proposals without photographs are not considered for Awards.

If any District Committee sends particulars of more than one candidate in each category, any deviation of the above instructions all the nominations from those Districts will be rejected.

Further, all the District Educational Officers in the state are requested to give wide publicity of the program through newspapers or any other local mass media.

Therefore, all the District Educational Officers are once again requested to scrutinize the proposals received from the inspecting officers as per the guidelines issued and submit the same with the specific recommendations to the state selection committee with the approval of the District Collector.
