We Love Reading’ కార్యక్రమాన్ని వేసవి సెలవుల్లో అమలు చేయాలని పాఠశాల విద్యాశాఖ ఆదేశాలు జారీ చేసింది. మే 1 నుంచి జూన్ 10 వరకు ఈ కార్యక్రమాన్ని అమలు చేయాలని సూచించారు.ఉపాధ్యాయులు, అధికారులు భాగస్వాములు కావాలని ఆదేశించారు. పాఠశాలలోని విద్యార్థులను గ్రూపులుగా విభజించి ఉపాధ్యాయులు దత్తత తీసుకోవాలని, వాట్సాప్ గ్రూప్‌ను రూపొందించి, ప్రతిరోజూ కథనాలు పోస్ట్ చేయాలని ఆదేశించారు. కథలు చదివిన తర్వాత విద్యార్థుల అభిప్రాయాలను సేకరించాలి. 

తరగతుల వారీగా పుస్తకాలను విభజించి గ్రంథా లయ పుస్తకాలు ప్రదర్శించాలని  వెల్లడించింది. విద్యార్థులకు వారి పఠన సామర్థ్యం ఆధారంగా 5-10 పుస్తకాలు ఇవ్వాలి. పుస్తకాలు చదవడం, కథలు రాయడంపై పోటీలు నిర్వహిస్తామన్నారు. 

1-5 తరగతుల విద్యార్థులు చదివిన కథను రికార్డ్ చేసి పంపాలి. 6-8వ తరగతి విద్యార్థులు సొంతంగా కథలు రాసి సమర్పించాలి. 9-12 తరగతులు, డైట్ విద్యార్థులు రెండు కథలు వ్రాసి వాటిని ఈ-మెయిల్ చేయాలి. ఇంట్లో సొంత లైబ్రరీ నిర్వహణ, డ్రాయింగ్ పోటీలు ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో భాగంగా ఉన్నాయి. ఉపాధ్యాయులకు కొన్ని లక్ష్యాలను నిర్దేశించారు. కాగా, సమ్మేటివ్-2 పరీక్షలు గురువారం నుంచి నిర్వహించనున్నారు.

Instructions for implementing the “We Love Reading Programme” (WLRP) in a systemic transformation of all students from non-readers to fluent readers with complete comprehension were issued in the reference cited, and it is requested that all Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers, and e Principals of DIETs in the state pay attention to this. This was accomplished by encouraging students to read a significant number of books from the library during the summer break.

In order to encourage the reading habit among stakeholders, this Department is going to hold “We Love Reading Competitions” (WLRC) with students, teachers, school head masters, student teachers, teacher educators, and DIET e Principals in order to adapt the encouragement of reading and will be habituated of reading for lifelong learning. All students have been instructed to bring books from the school library during summer vacation 2023. After reading the books, they may exchange them with their friends. The list of activities and competitions is annexed, and a link to submit them is provided in the Annexure (https://forms.gle/voBnKyqMWe PM2tR1f7).

Therefore, the state’s Regional Joint Directors and District Educational Officers are instructed to spread the word about the “We Love Reading Competitions” (WLRC) activities and competitions and to take the necessary steps to ensure that all students, teachers, headmasters, student teachers, DIET faculty, and DIET principals participate in the competitions. This should be treated as extremely important, and the instructions will be strictly adhered to without omission.

We Love Reading – detailed Action Plan

The We Love Reading program will continue throughout the academic year’s summer breaks. For the successful operation of the We Love Reading program, which will run from January 5, 2023, to June 10, 2023, detailed action plan guidelines are provided below.

All Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers ought to direct all Deputy Educational Officers and Mandal Education Officers to hold meetings with the headmasters of all schools in their respective Divisions and Mandals to discuss the implementation of the We Love Reading Summer Activities.

• The educational officers of the Mandals must devise novel methods for putting the program into action in their Mandals. State-level officials will hold one online meeting for MEOs to educate them about the program. The schedule will be released shortly.)

• The director will lead a gathering with staff individuals and set up a reasonable Activity Plan by using the library assets accessible in the school.

• The teachers adopt all of the school’s students equally.

• The lead teacher must establish a WhatsApp group with the adopted students; 

• The books in the library must be divided into classes and displayed in the library.

• In accordance with each student’s reading level, distribute five to ten books and record the information in the register for book distribution.

• Instruct students to read those books at home during the summer break.

• If the student is planning a trip during the holidays, bring those books along.

• Request that understudies read the tales took into account their folks and seniors.

• Every day, the leader of the WhatsApp group posts a story and asks the adopted students to read it. They also ask them to post their comments and any other stories they wrote in the group.

• Request that the understudies trade story books from their cohorts.

• Instruct students to visit a nearby public library and borrow books to read at home.

• While reading books from the library, students can participate in the following activities.

• 1. My book and I: Everyone is required to express their opinions on the book after reading it. Like own thoughts and sentiments about the characters, circumstances, pictures with respect to the book.

• 2) Books in the rack: Visit the homes of friends and family. Attempt to drill down the names of the books found with their companions and family members. Take notes on the significance of those books and discuss them.

• 3) Picture exhibition: Gather old magazines and newspapers and cut out the pictures that you find most appealing. In a notebook, paste those images. It is the gallery of pictures.

• 4) My friends’ stories: Create a group with their classmates and friends. Write the stories you’ve read in a notebook in their own words after discussing them.

• 5) My story collection: Gather stories from magazines or newspapers. Copy and paste those pages into a notebook. They will use this as a story bank.

• 6) Picture story: Select any photos from the papers or magazines and compose a story in light of picture.

• Number seven: Make their own book with their works and drawings , show the book on the resuming day performing exercises
